This speaks to me because it is a great start making it easily to access by providing dependable mobile units that are a resource in the neighborhood. Providing a station for therapy appointment in the neighborhood for those who have travel issues. It also could provide information for other services resources. it becomes a "buddy" in the "hood" that is their to service them for their better health and better lives, physically and mentally.
I also love the making it a part of the mandatory physical appts. maybe students are assigned therapist along with school guidance counselors you meet one a week at least, referred out for intense needs, etc.
I like this proposal it is very detailed in the steps and needs, etc.

Kelli, I like the idea of mobile access. Many people have trouble with transportation and could utilize this service. We have a school based clinic in my high school that the community can also use. It help student get physicals and also quick access when they are sick.
ReplyDeleteYes, transportation can be a huge roadblock to accessing services. I was carless for 15 years and fortunately lived in Providence near 2 bus routes. I always imagined how hard it must be to keep up with appointments. Having a school-based clinic sounds very convenient.
