The article Systems of Care left me with these thoughts:
The passage that stood out to me was :
We can also change our health system by investing in mobile crisis and community-based services, and by integrating behavioral health into the prenatal, primary pediatric, and young adult health infrastructure. This will help improve families's quality of life-and avoid restrictive and expensive care.
This speaks to me because it is a great start making it easily to access by providing dependable mobile units that are a resource in the neighborhood. Providing a station for therapy appointment in the neighborhood for those who have travel issues. It also could provide information for other services resources. it becomes a "buddy" in the "hood" that is their to service them for their better health and better lives, physically and mentally.
I also love the making it a part of the mandatory physical appts. maybe students are assigned therapist along with school guidance counselors you meet one a week at least, referred out for intense needs, etc.
I like this proposal it is very detailed in the steps and needs, etc.
This is an interesting link about a mobile units that URI is facilitating for people living with HIV and those unaware of their HIV status......Rhode to Health Mobile Unit
